Pedigree Thief: A Genealogy Data Gathering Tool
Pedigree Thief is a genealogy data gathering tool developed by PeffersGen. It is a Chrome extension that allows users to gather information from pedigree trees and import it into the Genealogical DNA Analysis Tool. The extension primarily reads pedigree trees from Geni and MyHeritage and converts them to Ahnentafel. It also has a Pedigree to GedCom application that can read pedigrees from other sources.
In addition to gathering pedigree information, Pedigree Thief can also read information on matches from MyHeritage and provides utilities for certain GedMatch web pages. The extension provides guidance on setting up and using it through a help menu accessible by right-clicking the icon. It also has a dedicated Facebook group for further assistance.
Please note that Pedigree Thief only supports English language pages, although the extension may function on other language sites. The latest version, 2.7.0, has been adapted to meet Manifest 3 requirements and includes various improvements and bug fixes.
